A leading Engineering business in the Midlands are looking for a Production Manager to lead their manufacturing team. This is full time, permanent position. Job Scope: The Production Manager leads the manufacturing team to achieve agreed production targets in terms of quality, quantity, delivery and cost. The production manager will be responsible for all operational aspects for the business, therefore he/she will have a significant contribution to the operational success of the company. The person appointed to the role will have control of engineering, production/manufacturing, quality (to include implementation of ISO9001 and 14001) Health and Safety, compliance with relevant standards, maintenance and the facility. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a production schedule based on the sales plan and orders received which effectively achieves output. Ensure that products manufactured meet the requirements of end users, customers, regulatory authorities and the company. Develop and maintain internal process to improve efficiency's. Lead, develop and motivate staff, setting targets and objectives on an ongoing basis. Maintain effective communication with staff in order to promote awareness of and to conform to customer requirements. Develop a culture of continuous improvement and strive to achieve best practice within our industry. Improve the capabilities and capacity of the manufacturing facility achieving delivery and cost targets. Integrate new products into the production process. Setting and agreeing KPI's. Report relevant information as per agreed time scales. Communicate with all relevant departments within the company (accounts and sales. Person Specification: The Production Manager should have a primary degree in engineering. A postgraduate qualification in manufacturing, quality control, or engineering is desirable. A proven track record in a manufacturing is considered essential. Experience working at senior management level. Must have a good working knowledge of quality systems. Strong communication and influencing skills. Track record of meeting financial targets. Ability to effectively manage a wide range of diverse activities. Self-starter with good motivational and inter-personal skills. Practical level-headed individual who is prepared to actively participate as an active member of the management team.
