We are looking for a Logistics Manager who will manage daily shipping and distribution operations for a manufacturing company based in Co Laois. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost effective way. Duties: Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, packing lists and shipping documentation. Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising internally and also with Customers, Suppliers, transport Companies and logistic providers. Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the business to improve operational and financial performance. Monitor quality, quantity delivery times and transport costs giving clear traceability and tracking of shipments. Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers. Inspect labels, bar codes and other features of completed orders. Supervise and lead subordinates in the team. Resolve issues regarding shipping orders to ensure orders are on track to meet agreed shipping dates. Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies. Report to Management on activities and issues. Qualification/Skills: Third level qualification in a business related discipline. 3-5 Years experience in a Similar role. Solid Knowledge of logistics procedures. Experience Team leader. Excellent communication skills. Organised person with good attention to detail. Advanced Excel Skills.
